Every video workflow starts with backing up your media. Arguably the most critical step; if you don’t get it right, it will haunt you. That’s where offloading comes in. More than just a backup, it covers all your bases - copying, verifying, organising, and reporting. All the essentials to swiftly get you to the next phase of ingesting media ready for your video production.

OffShoot

The indispensable data manager, designed from the ground up for media file copying, backing up and archiving. Renowned for its speed and ease of use, OffShoot transfers to and from any kind of storage. Use it on-set, in the office, or while on the road. OffShoot is tailored to transfer video files safe and secure, but is also perfect for audio, stills, and virtual production assets.

FoolCat

Beautiful camera reports with high-quality stills and rich metadata, for all popular RAW and video codecs. Accessible and dynamically displayed on any device, FoolCat’s dark mode takes care not to distract in the edit suite. Its PDF exports enable easily shared reports as camera sources come in: through OffShoot's deep FoolCat integration you can queue report creations, without keeping sources occupied or slowing them down during offloads.

A new Hedge

From today onwards, our flagship product Hedge has a new name:

Meet OffShoot

All good things come in threes. Today, we're releasing not just one OffShoot...

Cameras, recording codecs, and workflows are not all created equal. This means aligning files from different sources and preparing them for post is key to removing friction in workflows. By transcoding your footage, you can align and prepare files from different sources, and enable them to support various roles. This means that low-resolution proxies can be used for remote cloud-based workflows, editorial proxies can prepare raw files for the timeline with additional processes such as anamorphic de-squeeze, LUT application to log, frame guide, or burnt-in production metadata to meet the needs of different departments.

EditReady

An epically powerful transcoding engine wrapped in a friendly user interface. Ready for RAW and all the popular codecs, it uses each manufacturer’s own color science for the best and most consistent results. Transcode and re-wrap footage into high-quality editable files. Built for speed and optimized for the power of both old and new Macs, EditReady works with all flavors of Apple silicon and GPU acceleration you can throw at it. Add overlays, burn in timecode, add reel names, shoot dates, media names, and other metadata - all in one go.

Allowing talent to collaborate on the same projects has traditionally required specific hardware and often involved expensive on-premise solutions. As cloud collaboration came into the mix, this made the process even more complex and costly. Different NLEs and storage platforms require different approaches, so the challenges remain the same: enabling the best talent to work together, regardless of location, without additional friction. We work on breaking down the technical barriers and removing vendor lock-in, to enable you to focus on creative collaboration.

PostLab

Designed for Final Cut Pro and Premiere, PostLab tracks your projects across team members and only feeds you and your team the changes. It’s remote and collaborative editing, the way it should be. Say goodbye to relinking: with PostLab, it’s managed for you. Every team member can move files around as they see fit - without the others ever needing to relink. No more zipping and emailing of projects. No more "this_edit_FINAL_v1_v2_def_def2_final". PostLab keeps a copy of every saved file, for as long as you want. A single file with unlimited undo, right there in front of you.

An asset is at risk throughout its lifecycle unless it is backed up in at least two types of media or three places. Original camera files are often large and valuable in the long term, making digital negative options a cost-effective, air-gapped, and accessible archive free from egress fees. Having physical control of your content with browsing capabilities ensures that its value is safely under your creative control.
